Mounds View Youth Football 1997-2002
The Raiders started hot and had a 26-6 halftime lead, but made the game interesting.
Irondale Maroon played well, and capitalized on a fumble and a long touchdown run late in the game to close the gap to seven points.
Lots of good play, and a lot of rotation was the key to this Raider victory!
Congrats Raiders!

Rebounding from a loss to the MV Eagles, the Raiders defeated the Vikings 18-13.
Hoping to get some momentum for the playoffs and also get a little revenge from our earlier loss to the Vikings, the Raiders came ready to play.
A tough game from the beginning, this clash had lots of defense, and the Vikings took a quick lead running the opening kickoff in for a TD. However, the Raiders responded with a nice TD run by Ty. Josh also scored on a tough run up the middle.
The Raiders led the game 12-7, but the Vikings scored a 4th quarter TD to take a late lead, but a long Raider drive resulted in a TD by Josh with 3 plays left in the game. The D line did great, and all the Raiders played hard!
Congratulations on a tough win, Raiders.

In a turnover filled game, the Raiders defeated the Mustangs 18-6.
The Raiders' defense was the story as they stopped the Mustangs once at the 20, and once again on the 5 yard line.
Ty led all scorers with 2 TD's and Josh had one TD. Drew also did a great job filling in at center.
Good job Raiders! Coach Dean
With another balanced attached and good defense, the Raiders pulled out another tough win.
After the Raiders scored on their opening drive, St Anthony responded with a long TD run. However, the Raiders responded in kind with another TD drive by Alex. We recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff, and Josh scored his 2nd TD to put the Raiders up by 2 scores.
After halftime, the Raider D buckled down and caused one more fumble and Patrick took a interception in for a score. Josh lead all scorers with 3 TD's and an extra point, Alex and Pat had a TD, and Ty scored on an extra point. Ty led the team with tackles for a loss.
The Raider offensive line - Henry, Andrew, Jake, Dan, and Eli - were awarded football cards as the "players of the game."
Great job, Raiders! Coach Dean
In a game that saw lots of participation from the whole Raider gang, the MV Raiders defeated the Irondale White 32-18.
Irondale started the game with a quick strike around the end for an early 6-0 lead. The Raiders had a few offensive miscues and lost two fumbles.... After that, the Raiders got their footing and never looked back.
Highlights of the game included a interception, fumble recoveries, stellar blocking by the line, and a jarring hit by Andrew that caused a fumble. Joshua lead the scoring with 4 TDs, followed by Ty with one, and an extra point by Dan and Alex. Josh was the player of the game.
Good job Raiders! Coach Dean
With the score tied 0-0 at halftime, the Raiders took their tough defense and added some offense for the 2nd half.
The opening drive of the 2nd half by Irondale was stopped by Joe's interception at the 30. It was time for the Raiders to score. A long drive was capped with a tough run up the middle by Alex for the game's first TD. Josh added the extra point.
The Raider defense kicked in, and Joshua recovered a fumble in the end zone for the games 2nd and final score. Josh also scored the extra point.
Irondale was able to score on a long pass, but the Raider "D" stopped their final drive with another interception. The "O" line all earned multiple "dead bug" stickers for the helmets with stellar blocking....Joe was the player of the game for his 2 INTS.
Sadly, Nick is out for a while to nurse his injured wrist....get well quick, Nick!
Good job Raiders! Coach Dean
The Raiders lost a tough defensive battle against the MV Vikings. The game was 7-0, and it was decided by a single TD. The Raiders played good defense, and took away two scoring opportunities from the Vikings. The boys play the Vikings for the last game of the season before playoffs...and will have revenge on their minds.
The Raiders started their quest to defend their 2008 title with a defense-dominated win over the Irondale Maroon.
The first two Raider drives resulted in TD runs by Josh and Patrick, resulting in a 13-6 lead.
The 2nd half was highlighted by stellar defensive plays - 3 fumble recoveries, several tackles for loss, and suffocating play by the linebackers. Patrick and Ty scored 2 more TD's on the offensive end, and Jordan sealed the deal with a strip and fumble recovery that he took 25 years into the end zone!
Good Job Raiders. Must have been the breakfast.
